Squares on tilt (2010)

Installation at Bærum kulturhus, April 2010

Squares on tilt was a site specific installation made for the multi purpose room at The Bærum center of culture. This room has a very particular pattern in the wall, made up of tilted perforated (acoustic) plaster plates. I made a series of drawings based on these, where I sketched the pattern from memory over and over with a digital pen, using slightly different methods for each one. The prints were made up of 10-24 semi-transparent sketches put on top of each other. Installed about 20 cm out from the wall, each of them covered one of the “portrayed” squares.

The experience of working with acoustic plates became useful later, in a commissioned project on a similar wall. See Map of ignorance
