Usually, mating whales is not my subject matter... however, old maps of Iceland from the 16th-17th century is full of all sorts of whale "monsters". Every vacant space is decorated with them. And this map had a lot of vacant space,..

I copied the images from poster-illustrations at the whale museum in Husavik. The small trios depict Grey whales who apparently often use a third "helper" to support the female during the act.
