The task was to draw circles around each other, as close to each other as possible, while trying to avoid contact between the lines. The consequence of a mistake (a touch) was that I had to draw a “punishment-circle”, - a small circle “growing out” of the main circle from the spot where a mistake had been made.

I used these guidelines as the starting-point for approximately two hundred drawings, one performance and a painting directly into a ceiling. Possibilities within the framework were investigated by adjusting the element of chance and the set of rules I would work with. The execution of each drawing was process I neither could nor would change along the way, even though I was a part of it. Minor motions of my body, - a blink of the eye, - a twitch in a finger, would influence the result.

The punishment-circle drawings eventually led to map-projects where my body would serve as a drawing-instrument on a much larger scale.
